To my beloved Alpha House and House Committee, Frstly, thanks s a lot for giving a tremendous term as a house captain..teaching me more than I ever imagined, giving me experience which I can never have anymore in my life…This all boils down to the day when all of you gave me a chance to be the clanmaster…which changed my entire JC life..for the greater good...though I still love guitar club and library club..=)..I would say that I’m a very lucky captain…with such an enthusiastic bunch of House Comm members to support me all along…and a house which is never short of Alpha pride.. Viva la Pinata…the very first event which saw us working together with Alpha’s long established best friends, the Betans…=)..I can’t remember much though. All I can remember is how me and Fang Xiong saved Adrian’s day by helping him to communicate with the bubble tea shopkeeper and from then onwards, we have free ice for all our Alpha events…coolio!!! Beta Knights, you will always be our best friends..because while we as warriors defend the castle, you’ll be the ones riding your horses fighting with us proudly…=)..I’ll never regret my decision to organize the combined house function…the day when ALTA was established. We definitely reached Alta, “the peak”. Trin and Ren Hao, we definitely did not disappoint both of you. Orientation proved it all..I was surprised to see the number of sign ups for OGLs..and I think if I have a chance..I’ll take all of you in as my OGLs…I set a goal…a goal since the start of my captaincy. All of us pull it through…winning the orientation…something which I’ve always dreamed of. Each and everyone of the OGLs bonded into a bowl of glue…each with different strengths and weaknesses…complementing each other…we proved that we are indeed the best… I would say..out of all three orientations that I’ve won..as an OGM, as a clanmaster and as the 16th Alpha house captain..this one is definitely the best..with all of you by my side…supporting me without fail. For five days in my life, I actually became one of the coolest guy in school..thanks to all of you..love love love <3 all of you..=) Here’s the award.. ALPHA OGLS BEST IMPROVEMENT AWARD – Royce Lee Ji Xiong (29/08) Trust me..I love all of you…if only I can hug all 43 of you at once…and Tiong Wei..thanks for complementing me and cheer whenever Im not in mass dance ..well..I think I’ve made the right decision to strategize…inspiring the rest…preparing the rest for O’ nite…but I couldn’t have done it without you…my vice capt who can cheer better than any vice capts in school..=).. Then it comes to road run…once again…I was contemplating…and I tell myself that we are not going to give up hope…The girls did us proud…so did the guys…I guess it’s the only time which I ran so fast in my life…given my weight and my totally unfit body As for the cheering competition…I guess the 17th Alpha HC should be able to do something to improve.. Fang Xiong.. remember you told me that this is your first time..well..I hope you grew…and developed essential skills to deal with all these things…I’ve never given up hope on you…though at times..I must admit that I was quite angry with the rate things are going but you’ve done it in the end…=)..and we’ve done it…we reached our goal together.. Alpha girls can never be beaten.. And special thanks to my road run coach – Matthew Tan Teik Hoe (13/08)..who accompanied me almost every morning to run the lucky heights..=)..my 7-year old friend. FRIZZbie!!!..Mat…you certainly showed that you are a dependable and independent organizer…with everything neat and efficient…I certainly have faith in you…you made everything possible…and I admire your leadership qualities…you made a decision…a very important decision to carry on with the event..and I guess your decision was absolutely correct..and the sky did not disappoint all of us…well mat…let me tell you this…your event is so successful that it actually addicted half the council…and FRISSBIE was played in the council camp…=P..Mat…you are the most handsome squid I’ve ever met..who can blow clarinets.. Track and field…Phay Phay Phay..I’ve never had so much adrenaline in my life before. And you, with Mat..definitely did your best for Alpha..and once again showed the world that..Alpha girls are unbeatable...I’ll always remember the times when we had not enough participants and we became so desperate..asking everyone we see…there are definitely ups and downs…but we made it..and Phay…remember the list?...there will be Alpha’s name on it..under girls 2009..We’ve done it.. As whiny and high-pitched as you can be…=)..you are still one of my lovely sports captain.. DCPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...Cheerleading was the BOMB!!!..I’ve never imagined myself dancing with Ms Thangam…as much as Ms Thangam feels disgusted by the fact, it was one of the most fulfilling yet hilarious experience as a captain. Although your D & P are not on par with the average…but trust me..your C has surpassed everything..Just take a look at how the cheerleaders are constantly glued to all of you..All of you definitely have yor oen ways..=).. Special thanks to Daphne Tan Shi Yun (29/08) – The ALPHA CHEERLEADING TEAM COACH 2009..=) Shi Yan..you are not a bimbo, neither you are a kid…when I saw you pouring your heart into cheerleading, I was so so proud of this dark little girl whom I have in my committee..You’ve changed and grown into a big girl..Good luck with the 17th Alpha HC!!! Krystal =)..thanks for helping me to take care of Shi Yan all the time and working well with Kaizen..I mean..I’m really sorry for starting the total rubbish about you and Kaizen…well..you showed me what is being helpful, efficient and enthusiastic..=)..with you in the comm…everything seems to be calm and collected..everything seems to be fine… Adrian…what else can I say?…without you..I would have nobody to talk to..and every journey after school will be lonely..your suggestions are valuable..and you are rational guy..who becomes my advisor everytime we take buses together..really appreciate every effort you put into cheerleading…and décor..(I know you did your best) Wan Ning and Teresa, I wonder how the HC is going to be like, without two of you maintaining the order of paper work and budgets…the deadly weaknesses of me…though two of you are two most blur in the comm…well…I guess three blur people can work out really well as well..just look at how far we’ve arrived…really thank you for all the reminders and everything you have done..to keep me away the stare of our beloved mother, Ms Thangam Vickerama Singhan…=)… Wan Ning, you are one of the funniest and “blurrest” person I’ve ever seen…Thank you for all the laughter you’ve brought to the comm.. Teresa, whenever I see you, I can feel your floorball captain aura..=)..Thank you for being steady and consistent all the time.. Tiong Wei and Crystal..I love you..<3 We’ve come this far…no turning back..=).. We find greatest joy, not in getting, but expressing what we are. Men do not really live for honors or for pay; their gladness is not in the taking and holding, but in the doing, the striving, the building, the living. It is a higher joy to teach than to be taught.
